Six years ago I became intensely involved in the company. I started in sales and business development and advanced to project manager and board member. After completing my MBA I will return to my family’s business to execute our expansion plan. I have already started by founding a timber company in Central America and designing a pilot for a smart fueling project in Nigeria and Ghana. My immediate next goal is to focus on growing our telecommunications department. Due to recent investments, this department has potential to serve most of Western Africa with low marginal cost. I intend on leveraging this position by leading our company into other countries, including Nigeria, Liberia and Cameroon.
In fact, in my most recent job as Operations Manager for ABC Company, I received an ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ recognition due to my ability to coordinate complex logistics in order to keep customers happy even when issues arose that were beyond the control of the organization. Again, this involved not only managing operations but communicating directly with customers. As a result, I believe my combined ability to successfully manage operations while also effectively interface with customers makes me a prime candidate for this role.
A background in financial reporting and servicing Asia-Pacific business clients. The ability to converse fluently in Chinese. An understanding of Chinese, Japanese, and American cultures. I will bring these qualities to the Top School program and ultimately to my career in international investment management. As a first step toward achieving my career goals, I have registered to take level one of the CFA examination in June 201X and plan to complete the entire examination series upon graduation from Top Ten. Armed with the CFA certification and Top School's international bent, strength in finance and management training, I will be ready to place that call to the trader in China, conduct the videoconference with Tokyo, and visit the CFO in Thailand.
